Inspired by works such as Deadlock, Hunt: Showdown, Shin Megami Tensei, and the supernatural at large, PACT AMERICANA explores a Prohibition-era world entwined in the unknown; where the occult dances in the shadows of man's visions for tomorrow.
New Salem is a city steeped in mystery, chaos, and love-hate relationships with the things that go bump in the night. With groups of all shapes and sizes vying for a seat at the proverbial table, tensions are pushed and pulled in an inevitable rise - and someone has to take the reins.
Represented by faces across the planes, the United Society for Supernatural Oversight puppeteers its agents across the concrete jungle; digging into downtown to watch, look, and listen for the telltale signs of the powers that may be reaching for what they shouldn't. Headed by the enigmatic Council, it manages the delicate balance that allows the coexistence of all things occult - striving to ensure the safety of those that weren't cursed with the eye. And yet, there's only so much planning that you can do to account for the other side of the equation:
Humans.
Greedy, unpredictable, and unrelenting to the point of stupidity. To the point of sacrificing their essence for a taste of the divine.
So the tape rolls and the story continues. Every chase down busy streets, every contract inked in blood, every whisper of tantalizing temptation - souls damned to be bound, beckoned, and branded. One way or another, in wisps of ink and smoke -
everyone falls.
